The Plitvice lakes are Croatia’s most famous national park and one of the most beautiful sights in Europe. Due to their natural diversity, they are part of the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The Plitvice Lakes National Park consists of 16 lakes all connected with numerous waterfalls. The park is subdivided in two sections, Upper lakes (12 lakes) and Lower lakes (4 lakes), all surrounded by dense forests.
Tourists who visit Split often take advantage of the chance to visit nearby Krka National Park waterfalls famous for their natural beauties. The journey from Split to Krka National Park should take about one hour.
Krka is a stunning national park with cascades of waterfalls and an area that you can swim in. Two waterfalls Skradinski Buk and Roski Slap are the most impressive. There are also some trails to walk around, a few restaurants and gift shops.
There are many cultural and historical monuments found within Krka National Park. During the trip you’ll visit many scenic areas and viewpoints in the park. Don’t miss to visit the lovely town of Sibenik.
